The Boys season 5 premieres on Wednesday, April 8. Butcher and the crew will take on villain Homelander in season 5.

Prime Video

Prime Video just dropped a trailer for the fifth and final season of its dark satirical superhero series The Boys, which premieres on Wednesday, April 8. The season 5 trailer offers a lengthy look at what's to come after four Boys seasons and two seasons of the spin-off show Gen V.

The trailer presents a huge problem for the show's protagonists fighting Homelander (Antony Starr) -- he could become immortal. Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) seems willing to wipe out every supe on the planet to prevent it.

The trailer also includes a humorous reunion between Homelander and his dad, Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles).

"I need you, father," Homelander says.

"Is this some kind of incest thing?" a confused Soldier Boy replies.

The trailer reminds us that a variety of Boys characters' fates are up in the air, including Starlight (Erin Moriarty), Hughie (Jack Quaid), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), The Deep (Chace Crawford), Mother's Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capone), Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) and more.

The preview also includes Gen V actors Jaz Sinclair and London Thor, who play Marie Moreau and Jordan Li, and teases a reunion between Supernatural alums Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins -- who are joining the season 5 cast in unknown roles -- and Ackles.
