Carrie-Anne Moss plays Jedi Master Indara in Star Wars: The Acolyte on Disney Plus.
Throughout the inaugural season of The Acolyte, viewers have watched the separate journeys of estranged sisters Osha and Mae (Amandla Stenberg). Their light vs. dark duality has led to several revelations about their shared childhood trauma and the roles a team of Jedi had in the unfortunate calamity.Â
A shocking murder spree kicked off this new Star Wars chapter -- which takes place a century before The Phantom Menace put young Anakin Skywalker in a podracer. These crimes introduced audiences to a collection of new characters and established Osha and Mae as complex opponents with troubled pasts. While one pines for the Jedi life, the other walks the path of a Sith apprentice, seeking to eradicate those she blames for tearing her family apart.
The first installment of The Acolyte will end its run on Tuesday. Will the episode answer all our burning questions? That remains to be seen, but something tells us that the season 1 finale will be full of surprises, with allegiances being disrupted and justice, no matter how skewed, being dealt.
Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland is the mastermind behind the series, which stars Squid Game alum Lee Jung-jae as Sol, The Hate U Give's Stenberg in the dual role of Osha and Mae, The Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss as Jedi Master Indara and The Good Place's Manny Jacinto (The Good Place) as Qimir. Joining them are Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials) as Jecki Lon, Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll) as Yord Fandar, Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim) as Mother Aniseya, Rebecca Henderson (Russian Doll) as Vernestra Rwoh, Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones) as Torbin and Joonas Suotama (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as the Wookiee Jedi, Kelnacca.Â
