Novell names new marketing exec

William Hewitt has worked at PeopleSoft, Hyperion and IBM. His replacement will remain at the company, Novell said.

Linux seller Novell has named William Hewitt, formerly a group vice president of global marketing at PeopleSoft, to be its chief marketing officer. Hewitt also worked at Hyperion Software and IBM, the Waltham, Mass.-based company said Friday.

Novell's former top marketing executive, Debra Bergevine , will stay at the company and take a new job to be announced soon, the company said.
