Taiwanese PC component maker Via Technologies has begun an effort to better enter the market for embedded computing technology, the company said Wednesday. The company, which sells Intel-compatible processors and such as the 12cm-square Nano-ITX, hopes its low-power systems will be used in devices such as factory robots, in-dash car computing systems, consumer electronics and gaming devices.

The company named Steven Lee to lead the newly created Via Embedded Platform Division.
